About Us

We act entirely independent of producers and institutes. It is our intention to use the current scientific state of knowledge as basis for our work. We see us as a link between science and practice. We are aware of the responsibility that comes with that.

Fair relationships with our customers and business partners are as important to us as a constructive way of working together within the company. Healthy working conditions, fair salaries and flat hierarchies define us.

We live what we teach and what we as a company stand up for: Our big team of lecturers and almost all members of the ecodemy team live vegan and value sustainability and fair trade as well as ethics, ecology and animal welfare. As private persons we support different environmental and animal welfare organizations. Animal housemates – if any – are from shelters or rescues.

With our study materials we consciously do without print versions. We provide them digitally and therefore resource saving. Our students' location-independent learning, as well as our own home-office work, reduces travel and environmental impact.

Our office work is mostly paperless and our headquarters uses green electricity. We know that our doing and being can be improved further from an ecological and sustainability perspective – and we are working on that. But we also think that every practical step which is done and lived out of full conviction is more effective than striving for huge, but utopian goals.

Our Offers with the Highest DQR Level for Distance Learning Schools

The German "Distance Learning DQR" seal of approval is a seal of the Federal Association of Distance Learning Providers (Bundesverband der Fernstudienanbieter e. V.) for the classification of state-approved distance learning courses in the German or European Qualifications Framework for Lifelong Learning (DQR or EQF/EQF).

The Distance Learning DQR is intended to provide consumers an idea about the level of the intended degree of the distance learning course when concluding distance learning contracts. The "Distance Learning DQR" seal of approval is the first seal that links the distance learning courses offered by state-approved distance learning schools with the qualification levels of the DQR or EQF/EQF and thus also ensures European comparability of the degrees.

Our foundation training "Vegan Nutritionist Course" corresponds to the distance learning DQR level 5, our additional trainings with the level 4 To our knowledge, it is therefore the offer with the highest classification compared to similar distance learning courses of other schools. Consumer Protection and Quality Assurance

Our distance learning courses are quality checked and state-approved by German authority (“Staatliche Zentralstelle für Fernunterricht” (ZFU)). The ZFU checks whether a distance learning course is in accordance with the German Distance Learning Protection Act (FernUSG) and whether it or the study materials are appropriate for distance learning from a professional and didactic aspect. The technical review of the study materials is done by an expert reviewer. Additionally, registration form and information materials must be in accordance with legal requirements. The primary goal of this is to protect the students and it underlines the repute of the distance learning school.

Moreover, we are a member of the Federal Association of Distance Learning Providers (Bundesverband der Fernstudienanbieter e. V.). This professional association promotes and supports good quality in media supported learning – whether it is as a provider or learner – and gives standards for a membership. Member are provided with quality criteria in order to ensure high-quality educational offers and further develop them in the interest of customers.

In Germany, distance learning has been regulated by a consumer protection law since 1976. The ZFU monitors compliance with the Distance Learning Protection Act (FernUSG). Distance learning providers are subject to this regulation. Moreover, the members of the Federal Association of Distance Learning Providers are obligated to follow the “Practical Rules for Good Distance Learning” of the German Association for University Continuing and Distance Education (DGWF) as well as the quality criteria of the European Association of Distance Learning (EADL).

Additionally, the Federal Association of Distance Learning Providers has established the “Qualitiy Specifications for Distance Learning Providers der PAS 1037:2004” and has played a major role in the creation of DIN-ISO 29990 (2010). Approved and Certified Degrees

In addition to your personal data and the title of the training, the certificate also states the course content, the processing time and the type of exam/tests.

Our certificates for the foundation and additional trainings are issued twice, once with and once without a grade. The certificates are available digitally.

They are in accordance with both the German Distance Learning Protection Act (FernUSG) and the Guidelines of the Federal Association of Distance Learning Providers (Bundesverband der Fernstudienanbieter e. V.).
