Vegan-friendly party snacks: A real challenge? One thing is certain: You should not throuw a party or go to one without some delicious party snacks. After all, you want your guests to feel good and you don’t want them to miss anything. Here you can learn how to make delicious vegan-friendly snacks.
What Are Good Party Snacks?
Actually, you can serve anything at a party that you normally eat. However, a party often comes with special challenges, because:
- People don’t eat at the same time.
- There are no fixed meal times, but people are constantly eating in between.
- The food must look and taste good even after standing for a long time, so it must not spoil quickly and must be edible cold.
- There is no cutlery and often no plates. The food must therefore be handy, must not fall apart and drip when bitten off, or must be edible in one bite.
- Many people will eat the food, so it has to be prepared in large quantities.
Many well-known party snacks are either already vegan-friendly or can be easily prepared without products of animal origin. In the following, we have put together a number of ideas for savory and sweet vegan-friendly snacks for you to be inspired by.
Savory Vegan-Friendly Snacks
- sandwiches, rolls, pita breads, corn/rice/spelt waffles, oatmeal pan bread with vegan sausage, cheese alternatives, vegetable spreads, nut spreads, tofu of any kind, seitan, tempeh, served with salad or other raw vegetables
- french fries or potato wedges with mayonnaise, ketchup or other dips
- quiche
- tofu fritters
- chips: made from sweet (potatoes), vegetables, tofu, tempeh, with legumes: Partly you can find them in the supermarket or you make them yourself in the oven, pan or deep fryer.
- saltines, crackers, nuts, roasted chickpeas.
- muffins or waffles with vegetables and vegan cheese
- pretzels and other pretzel pastries (either store-bought or homemade) can be spiced up with vegan cheese substitutes and/or tofu.

- falafel, lentil meatballs, bean balls
- vegetable sticks with dips/hummus
If plates and cutlery are available, you can also prepare salads (with pasta, potatoes, (pseudo) grains and vegetables, and legumes and/or substitutes) or a soup or stews.
Sweet Vegan-Friendly Snacks
- cut (dried) fruit, e.g. coated with nut puree or chocolate
- energy balls
- vegan sweets (gummy bears, chocolate, cookies…)
