Susan Kerwien – Head of Course Development & Scientific QM
Graduate Nutritional Scientist, Biological Technical Assistant and Thinker.
My tasks at ecodemy: As part of the team of lecturers, I ensure that your course books are interesting, instructive and always up to date. Therefore, one of my main focus areas is the scientific quality management. Ecodemy provides you with the current science and carefully researched facts.
To me, the spirit of ecodemy is: Enthusiasm.
I became vegan: I have been eating vegetarian/vegan for more than 20 years out of ethical and ecological reasons, as well as for the health benefits. Since my early days with ecodemy, the plant-based diet has become increasingly important to me.
My way into the team: was a great serendipity. After my parental leave, I was looking for a challenging job opportunity, but also for something different from what I had experienced before in my career. I came across ecodemy by chance. My first contact with the team was surprising: their positive nature and enthusiasm impressed me instantly. I knew right away that I wanted to be part of this unique community. Since early 2018, I have been part of this incredible team and every day I am happy to work on challenging and meaningful tasks together with an inspirational team.
What makes me happy: My husband and my two kids, family, lovely people, going with the flow, silence and nature, a good book, good food, quick holiday escapes to the water with my family.
Some more facts about myself: Science, biology, nutrition – these are exciting areas that have been accompanying me for a long time. After a professional excursion into the area of medical research, I am now very happy to be able to fully dedicate my time and work to the field of nutrition again. I always feel that I want to grow and evolve in different areas – professionally, but also as a human being.
